Acceptable master source is 3/4" U-matic broadcast quality tape, premastered using Sony PCM-1630 (or l6lO), DAT or JVC
900 format 8mm Exabyte with DDP, or Yellow Book standard CD Recordable (CD-R). Sampling frequency must be 44.1 KHZ.
There will be a service charge for DAT or JVC tape transfers to 1630. All sources should include a master log.
SMPTE non-drop frame time code should be placed on analog audio track 2. It should be continuous, unique and up counting
from beginning of tape through program and tape lead-out. Tape lead-in should be 2 minutes minimum of digital black.
Tape lead-out should be 30 seconds minimum. Include Compact Disc Master Tape Log (see sample sheet below):

BEFORE SENDING IT TO US.
- Maximum (In Spec) Program Time is 74:30. A release is required for tapes over
74:30.
- Lead-In - One
minute (minimum) SMPTE Time Code (Digital Silence) starting at 00
: 00 : 00 : 00.
- Lead-Out - 30
Seconds (minimum) SMPTE Time Code (Digital Silence).
- Start and End Times (SMPTE) should be logged accurate to the frame number
(although end time may include safety margin).
- Cross Fades -
Please indicate if cross fades should be used. They will be used
automatically if less than one second of pause time is left.
- Emphasis -
Should be indicated on log whether it is 'ON' or 'OFF'. Add 2
seconds (minimum) pause time between tracks when there is an
emphasis change.
- Audible Errors or Mutes - Will cause tapes to be returned.
Digital Tape Analyzer Report - Printout should accompany your tape.
