The following contains basic requirements for inserts/tray cards.
- Composite Plate Ready Film. We print our products using four-color process and
PMS inks. The four process inks are: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and
Black (CMYK). We need one complete piece of film for each specific
ink. This means that all color separations, half tones, type,
etc., need to be stripped together and composited.
- The film must be in printer’s spread, film negative, right-reading, emulsion
side down (dull side down, shiny side up).
- The recommended line screen is 150 or 175.
- The color matchprint must be sent with each individual job. Printer will
not be responsible for colors if a color matchprint is not
furnished. Also, a mock-up needs to be furnished for page
placement, folding, etc. A blue line is recommended. Computer
generated proofs such as: Iris, Thermal Proof, etc., are not
acceptable color proofs for accurate press reproduction.
- The pricing structure is based on gang-running jobs. This is when two or
more jobs are printed at the same time on the same form. All jobs
are guaranteed for pleasing color, not match color. Printer offers
match color printing at commercial rates (call for quotes).
- Templates are enclosed within our catalog for layout purposes. All film must be to the exact specifications
of the job you are having printed, plus a 1/16" to 1/8" bleed for trimming purposes. For example: A four-panel CD
folder unfolded specs out at 9½" wide and 4¾" tall. Add 1/8" bleed for trim to 9¾" wide and 5". (Absolute minimum
bleed is 1/16").
